Another great evening Saturday night at The County Seat in Powhatan! .We had another houseful of great fans, some we hadn't seen for a while, as well as a lot of you that we have seen over the past couple of weeks.Thanks to all of you for coming out to join us!

   We'll  be taking this coming week off, then heading to the studio to lay down some tracks the following Saturday. We took band pictures yesterday, so hopefully we'll have those posted soon, and as soon as we get the tracks mixed, I'll be posting them, too.

  On Saturday, March 8 we'll be closing out the "Night Owl" portion of the festivities with a performance at 2 AM. Y'all take a good nap and join us that night at the Holiday Inn in Hampton.For anyone who's NOT attended Cabin Fever, you really need to..it's a whole hotel filled from Thursday through Sunday with pickers.   Another great time Friday evening at the Farmer's Cafe' in Blackstone, VA! Thanks to all that came out to join us for a great night of food, fun, and bluegrass music.The house was packed with great fans, and we really enjoyed ourselves.Thanks also to Al and Barbara, owners of the Cafe', for having us. Special thanks to Calvin and Brenda Lawson of Lawson Entertainment for booking us. We look forward to going back soon!

Howdy, all!

 

   What a great time we've had the last two weekends! We've kicked off the new year in fine fashion, and really had a lot of fun in the process.

 

   Last Saturday, January 26, we joined Mel Payne at radio station WSVS in Crewe, Va., for the "High Noon Hoedown". It was our first performance of the 2008 season, and it felt good to be back in the saddle again. Many thanks to Mel for having us over, and special thanks to Chris Goin for recording the show. We're reviewing the CD, and hope to be able to post a few audio clips soon.

 

   This past Friday night, we were guests of Bluegrass Billy McKay at the Live First Fridays show in Farmville, Va. We had a great turnout, got to see some friends we hadn't seen in a long while, and made some new ones as well. Thanks to all that braved the cold and rain to come out and join us.We had a ball..so much so that when we went to dinner afterward at the Country Cookin, we ended up picking a while longer right there in the restaurant! Thanks also to each of you for your kind comments, both at the show and here on the webpage. If you're in the Farmville area during the week, be sure to tune your AM dial to 870, WFLO, between 1 PM and 3 PM for the Tall Pines Radio Show. Bill does a great job, playing the best bluegrass music has to offer. Thanks for having us, Bill...we look forward to coming back soon!

 

  This coming Friday night, February 8, we'll be joining Sweet Brenda and Him of Lawson Entertainment at the Farmer's Cafe' on Main Street in Blackstone, Va. This is a really fun venue, featuring great food and good folks. This place fills up quickly, so plan to arrive early, enjoy some fine eatin's, and spend the evening with us.
