Northridge

   Northridge is a band based in Richmond, Virginia. The four-member group features hard-driving rhythms, tight vocal harmonies, and quality musicianship.

  The band was formed in late 2007, but its members have been playing together for several years. Each brings a love of the music and the joy of playing, and we hope you'll enjoy your time with them.

   Harrison Shumaker is the front man for the group, playing bass and providing the backbone and timing of the band's drive, as well as doing lead vocals on several numbers. Playing in several local and regional bands including Troublesome Creek, Cook County Bluegrass, and Rock Solid Grass, Harrison developed a passion for the music and loves nothing better than playing bluegrass. Originally from Farmville, Harrison now resides in Richmond, Virginia.

  On five-string banjo, a true veteran of bluegrass. Clyde Bailey has played with many notable musicians, such as Charlie Waller and the Country Gentlemen, Bill Harrell, Larry Stephenson, and Appalachian Express, and formed the bands Local Exchange and South Main Street . Clyde is one of the finest pickers and harmony singers in the business and his knowledge of the music is second to none. Clyde lives in Amelia, Virginia.

  One of the finest young pickers anywhere around, Jay Kaczor has had an illustrious career in bluegrass. Forming his own band, Bluegrass Connection,  at the age of fifteen, he enjoyed great success. From there, he began playing with this group late in 2004. He recently returned from a stint with Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, and he does a phenomenal job on guitar as well as on lead and harmony vocals. Jay calls Meherrin, Virginia his home.

  The newest member of the band comes to us from the Petersburg, Virginia area. Corey Rackley has been playing mandolin since he was big enough to hold one and he is among the best of the group of outstanding young pickers out there today. Corey has the strong chop and dynamic  picking that gives the music its sound, and he does a superb job on lead and harmony vocals as well. Corey has played with a number of groups, most recently with Billie Sue and Bobby Goff and Mill Run.
